I am a communication specialist

Clear, empathic, effective communication (pragmatics) is my most powerful tool to build my values-driven life. It is an ongoing building process I have constantly innovated throughout my career as a communication expert. "Soft skills" take hard work, and I'm passionate about this work. I love talking. I love to talk about talking. And I love to unleash the power of communication in all its forms to help my clients, colleagues, and the two little guys who call me “mama" the thrill of clicking with those around them. I believe everyone, regardless of their circumstances or barriers, possesses the innate power to project their authentic voice to the world. This core belief and my passion for helping people access their power to be understood have charted my career path.

I am a speech language pathologist

For 16 years, I worked with people with significant communication challenges. Whether in a therapy session with a deaf child or while processing clinical work with one of my graduate students as an adjunct professor in the PennWest Communication Sciences department, I understood how to meet people where they were and build a relationship of trust and collaboration from that place. My education (M.S. in Hearing, Speech, and Language Sciences from Gallaudet University) and ICF Certification in Social and Emotional Intelligence, empowers me to understand everyday interactions from a cognitive and psychological perspective. This perspective helped me navigate the various professional environments I partnered with to deliver my skilled services. These professional environments varied from academia, healthcare, the nonprofit sector, and seated criss-cross applesauce on more living room floors than I can count. In each, I further honed my expertise in ideating and relaying accessible solutions to complex problems. Well, those experiences and the pandemic, if I'm going to be completely honest!

I am a conversation starter

Amid the pandemic shut-down, suddenly finding myself with a lot of time to be home and think, I inadvertently began making mental notes about how this unprecedented global crisis was impacting communication. Almost overnight, corporate culture saw a paradigm shift. Communication was never so complex, fraught, varied, artistic, accessible, provocative, or essential. It was a lot to process, right!? As we emerged from that chapter, only to face more uncertainty, we were challenged to unlearn any habits that inadvertently made us unkind or ineffective communicators. And we had to embrace strategies that encouraged the personal and professional growth necessary to fortify the people-first foundations of our businesses and ensure their sustainability. Our world is at a communication crossroads that can be intimidating to navigate, but I've always been motivated by the challenge of reshaping human behavior. This calling, catalyzed by these unprecedented circumstances, birthed my company, Click Pragmatics. My background as a speech-language pathologist and certified social and emotional intelligence coach empowers me to help you reunite your team, reignite their passion for their work, and revitalize your business. In other words, I help your team click. (Also, I have a delicious fudgy no-bake recipe I would love to share with you as long as you promise never to tell my mother I let it out of the family recipe book. Shhh…) So, if you're ready to change, grow, or learn your new favorite bake-sale go-to recipe, I look forward to working with you.
